Bight Games and Sonic Boom Announcement

We're proud to announce our relationship with Sonic Boom, who will be publishing three of our iPhone games across multiple platforms. Pocketgamer picked up the story here.

Pocketgamer Silver Award!

We have to thank the folks at pocketgamer for the Silver Award (and an 8/10) for Big Top 10. It's a great review and we think caputures our intent for the game.

Check it out here!

Some quotables if you're not inclined to read the whole (beautifully written) article.

"The best games are often the simplest, but rarely the cheapest. Big Top 10 hits the target in both cases, offering unbeatable value for the number-obsessed iPhone and iPod touch gamer."

"So Big Top 10 has a elegant concept, but what makes it stand out is the quality of the presentation. As the title suggests, the theme is circus - Big Top, gettit? - so you have brassy oompha music, stencil graphics and a slightly off-kilter atmosphere."

"It all adds up to one of the most immediate experiences we've had on the iPhone. Highly recommended for anyone with the slightly interest in numbers, and value for money."

iphonefreakz review of Big Top 10

"Big Top Ten Highly Addictive"

Many games were shown at the WWDC three weeks ago. One of those games is called “Big Top 10″ and is now available in the app store. It is a puzzle game and your goal is to connect adjacent numbers in an effort to add up to a total 10. If you are very good than you earn more points. How? By making longer chains of adjacent numbers. The longer they are the more time and points you get. The game gets harder te further you come. More and more higher values numbers will show up.

The tutorial provided with the game gives you clear instructions on how to use the game. The music is entertaining en the game gives plenty of options. When you’re stuck, just shake the iPhone for a new set of numbers. There are also special items like bombs, multipliers and clocks to make it a little easier for you to make longer chains of numbers.

Big Top 10 is a really addictive game. It seems to be perfect for the iPhone. The gameplay is fun, smooth and gives you unlimited replayability. And as a bonus you can also combat against a friend via a wifi-connection. For only $0,99 this is a must have.

Preview Quotes from WWDC

Just in case you’re not in the mood to click through all the links in the last post, I’ll include some highlights:

KILL ALL BUGS

“Kill All Bugs! is one of the platform’s most promising releases. Fans of tower defense (or any tower defense-inspired game) should keep an eye on this one.”

-Gamezone.com

“[Kill All Bugs] takes considerably more attention from the player than other TD games we've seen.”

-slidetoplay.com

“adds a new wrinkle to the TD strategy”

-ign.com

PUZZLINGS

“Puzzlings is positively adorable. It's not just the little hero with his docile grin and zero straight lines that charms the pants off even the most jaded gamer. The entire game is popping with clever art that has a Paul Frank vibe to it.”

-ign.com

“Puzzlings is a puzzle game/character customization hybrid – developed for iPhone and iPod Touch – where you solve puzzles to unlock new clothing/hats/etc. for your Puzzling character.

For me, the idea of playing dress-up isn’t that exciting. That part is geared toward women and children. But the gameplay? Wow! “

-Gamezone.com

“Oh yeah--the game seems pretty fantastic, too. This is technically Match-3, but Bight has turned the old formula on its head.”

-slidetoplay.com

“[Puzzlings] offers a fit and polish that makes it feel like great title and should provide puzzle gamers something a little different to enjoy.”

-toucharcade.com

BIGTOP 10

“Bight Games might just have the perfect puzzler: Bigtop 10.”

-Gamezone.com

“[Big Top 10] looks like it could end up as a go-to app for killing time.”

-slidetoplay.com

“Big Top Ten, an iPhone puzzler with a very cool old-timey circus theme.”

-ign.com

“It's certainly a rather simple concept for a game, but sometimes those are the best.”

-toucharcade.com

The Previews are in!

I have just spent the last 10 days at E3 and WWDC and am just back on my feet. I had the opportunity to show our three newest games to some esteemed journalists and their reactions were a shot in the arm (that’s good) for everyone at Bight. I’ll post the links here so that you can see for yourself.
